About Us

 

 

The Gables was built in 1892 and was restored to its present grandeur by Margaret and Bill Campbell in 1994. It is now owned by Judy and Jim Churchill who continue the tradition of welcoming weary travelers. The Gables is open year round and is the perfect place for small parties, showers, family reunions, weddings, meetings or any type of gathering in an intimate space.

 

Guest Rooms

 

There are five guest rooms available: The Huron, Les Cheneaux, Lilac, Wanigan and Trillium. Full breakfast is provided as well as a "bottomless cookie jar" and beverages. Please call to reserve a room: 231-627-4460. All guest rooms are located on the second floor.

Huron

 This soothing and relaxing seaside-themed room includes an original stained glass window, antique bed and private bath.

Les Cheneaux

A nautical-themed room with an antique bed and private bath.
Lilac

 A beautiful floral decorated room with antique furnishings and a full bath down the hall (bathrobes provided).
Wanigan

 A north woods decorated room with antique furnishings and private balcony. Full bath down the hall (bathrobes provided).
Trillium

 A floral-themed room with antique twin beds, orverstuffed wing back chair with full bath across the hall (bathrobes provided).

Local Attractions

 

The Gables is a great starting point for exploring the "tip of the mitt." We are only a short distance away from the Mackinac Bridge and within walking distance to shops, restaurants and other activities. We are close to casinos, Indian River, golfing, boating, hiking, antiquing, birding, snowmobiling and skiing to name just a few of the activities awaiting you. Take a day trip to Traverse City, Petosky, the Soo Locks, Charlevoix, the sand dunes, and don't forget about mushroom hunting!

Two night minimum stay applies to all rooms on weekends from mid June through October. Sometimes due to bookings it is possible that a single Friday or Saturday may be available. Please ask!
Cancellations: 7 days prior to arrival receive full credit minus $15 service fee. Less than 7 days are non-refundable unless the room can be booked.
